An anomaly is a break from the house’s normal state: a figure where no one stood, a changed object, an impossible face, a warning across the screen, a missing outdoor landmark, a creature at a window, or an appliance behaving strangely. The useful skill is not memorizing a fixed night schedule. It is matching the cue you actually see to one deliberate response, then confirming the event has cleared before you sleep.
Roblox does not publish an official anomaly manual. The responses here are community corroborated where multiple current walkthroughs agree and community reported where the exact room, timing, or safe signal remains disputed. If the live prompt contradicts a guide, follow the live prompt.

Read the Catzilla routeStart with a normal-state scan
Before the horror layers appear, learn the locations of the front door, mailbox, windows and curtains, living-room TV, bathroom toilet and tub, hallway openings, back-room doors, lights, furniture, Whiskers, and the phone. A cue is easier to recognize when you know what should be there.
Do not touch every unusual object immediately. Stop at a safe distance and read the objective or phone. Some events are solved by taking a photo, but others punish approaching, opening a door, going outside, or leaving a device in the wrong state. Identify the response family before acting.
Keep ordinary chores separate from anomaly handling. If the litter and dinner are incomplete while you experiment with an event, the final badge may reflect the chores rather than the anomaly.
Response families
These are categories, not universal rules. A photograph is not a substitute for curtains during a window event, and turning on the TV for Catzilla does not mean the TV should remain on at bedtime.
Use the phone deliberately
Recorded desktop footage shows the phone opening with P, but mobile and controller prompts can differ. Use the current on-screen control. When the event calls for a photo, frame the abnormal subject clearly and wait for the response or visual reset. Do not take random pictures of every room and assume silence means success.
The Tall Man is commonly reported as a doorway or hallway figure that should be photographed. Misplaced is associated with an object in the wrong location and is also commonly handled with a photo. Exact object positions can vary, so compare the room with its normal layout rather than searching for one memorized prop.
If the phone message tells you to perform a different action, follow that live instruction. Current public guides are snapshots, while the game can update.
Curtains, windows, and the outside world
For a face watching through a window, current guides consistently report closing the relevant curtain. The Void is described as a broader outdoor change—darkness and a missing mailbox—and guides report closing every curtain. Check more than one room before deciding the house is sealed.
Do not go outside during a UFO or other unsafe-sky event unless you are deliberately testing a failure result. Current guides report staying indoors until the UFO leaves; walking outside is associated with Beamed up. Wait for the visual state to clear, then return to chores.
Curtain-related routes can conflict with badges such as Is anyone home?, whose exact official trigger is not described. For a good run, use the active event instruction rather than keeping every curtain permanently closed across multiple nights.
Bathroom and cat changes
A face or creature in the toilet is commonly countered by flushing. A blood-filled bath is reported to require the bath tap, but detailed timing should be tested in the current version. Do not sleep while the bathroom event is still visibly active.
If Whiskers appears with a human face, current guides report staring until the cat returns to normal. Keep your view on the changed cat and wait for the reset. This is different from ordinary laser play and from special interactions such as repeated petting or spinning Whiskers.
Lights, television, and sound cues
Current guides connect rapid or creepy breathing with turning lights off until the event clears. Other guides describe a flickering light that should be switched off once. Those cues are easy to confuse, so check which room is affected and whether the sound or flicker stops.
Catzilla is the giant cat-like figure outside. Multiple current guides report turning on the living-room TV as the response, then turning it off before bed. Leaving the TV on is separately associated with Screen Time. The Catzilla guide explains the sequence and its uncertainty.
Direct threats: HIDE, Granny, and warned doors
When HIDE appears, stop chores and move to a closable interior room. Current walkthroughs agree that you must get out of exposed space and close a door, but they do not consistently establish one uniquely safe room in every version. The HIDE guide gives a response based on room properties rather than an unsupported guarantee.
For Granny, current reports agree that opening or approaching carelessly can lead to Granny is Here, but exact avoidance descriptions vary. Do not open a door merely because someone knocks. Wait for the prompt or threat state to resolve.
An unexpected back door is commonly connected to Pranked. Keep it closed during a clean run. Open it only on a dedicated attempt where every other responsibility is complete.
Confirm an event is cleared
Look for a reliable state change: the figure disappears, the outside returns, the cat becomes normal, the warning vanishes, the phone responds, the sound stops, or the objective updates. One button press is not proof. Walk back to the original cue and confirm it no longer persists.
Then resume the chore loop at the last completed task. Before bed, check both the event area and ordinary hazards. An event can be solved while the refrigerator or television remains unsafe.
If the reported counter fails
Do not layer more random actions. Re-read the live objective, verify that you identified the correct event, and check whether the action needs a completion signal. If the version appears changed, finish the run safely if possible and record the cue, room, action, and outcome.
Community disagreement is strongest around HIDE’s exact room, Lights Out versus other light cues, the Void, Granny, and some door states. Those are legitimate in-game testing items, not reasons to invent certainty.
Anomalies FAQ
Is there a fixed anomaly every day?
No reliable fixed schedule is publicly established. Recognize the live cue.
Should I photograph every anomaly?
No. Photos are reported for specific figure and misplaced-object events. Other events use curtains, fixtures, lights, the TV, hiding, staring, or waiting.
How do I know it is safe to sleep?
Confirm the visual, sound, warning, or objective state has cleared, then complete the ordinary pre-bed checklist.
Are these responses official?
Roblox confirms related badge names but publishes almost no mechanic descriptions. The response list is synthesized from current walkthroughs including Pro Game Guides, AllThingsHow, and Bloxodes, checked October 24, 2026.
